HELLO GUYS. So i was sketching around, trying to do more simplistic illustrations. I have a habit of going too far with silly details or over rendering so this essentially this is a lesson is restraint. Man, restraint is hard huh.

Hey guys. So heres what I’ve been working on recently. I joined in on James Harvey's massive Bartkira project. I was well excited to not only be in the first volume but to get the chance to illustration quite a pivotal moment in the story! Really happy with the outcome, I think I might have some nerve damage in my drawing arm but its totally worth it.Now good news for those who are in the US and around the portand area, this and the rest of volume one will be exhibiting in floating world on December 5th! I’d love to see it personally, but yeah. Kinda in the middle east right now.

This is more content from my Coward Chronicles project that was put aside back in January 2011. This isn’t necessarily a first page, more so a way to get into the mood of the project. I was going for a completely different direction to what I usually do but also elaborating on the freestyle comicking of my earlier projects. I added bits and pieces to it today and now I feel like starting the project up again.

I recently had to migrate alot of stuff on my work computer because we were given shiny new macpros to play with. Among all my junk are a bunch of unfinished illustrations and projects I meant to initiate but never did. This one was for a project called Coward Chronicles and it was going to be a completely abstract, stream of consciousness comic for me to play about with. Part of it turned into the few pages I have posted here and here but I changed the name for some reason. Anyway, I have more stuff from this project that I’ll try to clean up and post soon, better than it going to waste on my hard drive. And for reference, the ink in the work above was done in 2011. It took 2 and a half years to finish apparently. Wow.

I purchased these excellent brushes from Ray Frenden. If you’re a digital artist with a tablet I highly suggest buying these bad boys. They’re really intuitive and bloody fun to use. This was a quick doodle at work, can’t wait to break them in on my Cintiq (which i have totally neglected since buying). Speaking of neglect, it’s the Sheriff! Yes.
For some reason I cant seem to add hyper links so I’m just gonna post the urls here:
Here’s Ray’s website: http://frenden.com/And here’s where you can buy his brushes: http://frenden.myshopify.com/
