I purchased these excellent brushes from Ray Frenden. If you’re a digital artist with a tablet I highly suggest buying these bad boys. They’re really intuitive and bloody fun to use.
This was a quick doodle at work, can’t wait to break them in on my Cintiq (which i have totally neglected since buying). Speaking of neglect, it’s the Sheriff! Yes.

For some reason I cant seem to add hyper links so I’m just gonna post the urls here:

Here’s Ray’s website: http://frenden.com/

And here’s where you can buy his brushes: http://frenden.myshopify.com/

SO. I was asked to do some live art for one of Tiger beer’s Tiger translate events. This one was a private, invite only affair at Chinwaggery(Yes, that it’s actual name), Movenpick on JBR.
The theme was east meets west, it needed to involve a tiger too. So I improvised the shit out of it. So we have a rockabilly Cat man(as described by my buddy Sasan) who i’ve named Catmandude(from Kathmandu), Unicorn dragon tree thing who happens to be strangling an Urban samurai. Excuse the poor photo quality, apart from the one paparazzi shot, the rest is my humble phone.
In retrospect I kinda wish i spent more time on the second side and less time making use of the open bar.
The night ended with coffee flavoured Tequila, trashy 80s club, cat fights and death threats to people phoning whilst using the toilet. BECAUSE THATS HOW WE DO.

Instagram round up. A pick and mix filled with day job illustrations, freelance previews, sketches and other stuff.

In between freelance and day job projects I need a little breather, so I clear my brain with little doodles. Here’s the round up of sketches from yesterday and today, instagrammed for that extra wowness.

OOHHH

For today’s retrospect, here are two pages. The first was early an early concept page for The Legend of Dorian Sanchez. I ended going with a different approach for the comic, although I love the messy grimey feel of it.

The second page was the actual end of Farewell Reginald or should i say the new beginning? it was meant as a reimagining of the rest of the story, occuring again. Now that weird blue ink? I found a giant bottle of expired ink from the 60s in a stationary store in downtown Amman, Jordan. The man working there told me the bottle had been sitting there since he began working there over a decade ago and just wanted to get rid of them. I bought that one bottle and the following year, bought the rest. Unfortunately they’re stuck in my place in Jordan, they weigh a ton so bringing them back wasn’t an option. Someday I shall redeem them!  …Anyway like the pages posted yesterday, this page was exclusive to the print only version of FR and the previous page has never been seen by anyone. Now it’s available to all, because I love you, that’s all, I’m not trying to get into your pants honestly.

Oh and both pages are from around 2007.

I brought my sexy beast, where’s yours?

First digital Illustration I’ve done in forever. IT FELT GOOD.
If you’re not following The Middle Beasts already, I’m worried about you. This is an intervention. Hop on over and get some art treatment for that. We’re growing in numbers too, we’re now 5. That’s right, 5 sexy beasts.

Go on, you need it.

Remember Farewell Reginald? That amazing caper I self published in 2007? Well those of you who fortunately snagged a copy of that sold out masterpiece got to see a page or two that weren’t published online. I don’t see myself ever publishing it again(because I’m lazy and it’s old), so with the magic that is the interweb, here are some of the images that were only available in print. The dramatic end to the story, inside and outside cover illustrations and just for kicks, the front cover. I forgot about the subtitle. As you can tell I was quite the fan of grainy photocopy textures.
Funny fact about that comic page, it links Farewell Reginald to The legend of Dorian Sanchez. Firstly, there is the original inspiration for Dorian Sanchez’s design, an eye patched, sleezy version of myself. Also, there’s the first instance of how Reginald appears in the Dorian Sanchez comic. *sigh* loved that page… ENJOY!

Hello. So I was browsing through my archive of work when I stumbled on a bunch of stuff that I adored and stuff I forgot I ever did. I’m gonna start posting stuff over the next day or so, no point in them wasting away on my hard drive.
This was a university project I did back in 2005 called manimals. This was a real life that happened, because it was real. I may have posted in around that time, I can’t remember though. Enjoy

“Got me lookin so crazy right now”

I couldn’t resist a quick doodle.

I did a quick illustration on my middle beasts blog. BTW, if you haven’t been following, my buddy Rami has been doing an awesome series of portraits called Masked Musicians. Go forth, check them out, reblog and other stuff that people do.
